Being a beagle mom, I'm a sucker for all things beagle. I was so excited to get this book, I mean come on - a book with a beagle sidekick is a must read right?!?
I went into reading the book with high hopes it would be an amazing cozy; however, I feel it fell flat. The characters are good, the concept was good, I just feel the book needs more work. To me the chapters didn't flow together seamlessly. I had a difficult time following the conversations.
This is the first book I have read from this author so I'm not sure if this is her writing style or possibly bad editing.

I give this book 3 stars

In this first book in the new series created by Nola Robertson, A Hawkins Harbor Cozy Mystery, you will be captivated by the witty characters. While reading this book I was taken to a nice harbor town where life is simple and friends are in abundance. Where you can walk in the morning to a cute coffee café to have breakfast with friends while looking out over the water. Don’t let the serene setting fool you though, there is a mystery to be solved! A group of unique friends are on the case to help law enforcement solve the mystery.
I am excited for the next book to come out.
